Aramark is hiring a Driver to support resident transportation and logistics services at Florida State Hospital. This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of residents, accompanied by escorting staff, to medical appointments, residential placements, and partner agencies. The position also supports interdepartmental deliveries, including mail, medical records, labs, X-rays, and diagnostic materials.
Job Responsibility:
Transport residents, with escorting staff, to medical and specialist appointments
Transport residents to foster homes, nursing homes, VA hospitals, halfway houses, and other approved locations
Travel throughout the state of Florida and, on occasion, out of state
Operate various vehicles including passenger cars, vans and shuttles (including vehicles with wheelchair lifts)
Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks, including tire pressure, oil, transmission fluid, and fuel levels
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly to the supervisor
Accurately document departure and arrival times, mileage and trip details
Maintain communication with the transportation office via radio and/or cell phone
Participate in rotational on-call coverage for after-hours, weekend, and holiday trips
Follow all Aramark policies and procedures and Florida State Hospital transportation protocols
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations
Requirements:
Must be age 21 years or older
Valid driver’s license required - Class E minimum, Class A, B, or C preferred, with Passenger endorsement
Minimum 2 years of experience operating passenger vehicles preferred
High school diploma or GED preferred (not required)
Ability to operate vehicles safely in varied conditions and environments
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate written records
Professional, respectful demeanor when interacting with residents, staff, and partners
