Job Description

This is a fantastic role to really get your teeth into! Your role will be to ensure all returning drivers and their vehicles are fully checked in, allocated and all relevant records are reviewed and maintained.

Job Responsibility

  • Receive all collection and delivery paperwork from returning drivers and ensures it is fully completed and correct, updating relevant staff with progress reports where necessary
  • Assist drivers with downloading tacho records and identifying any discrepancies or omissions, referring to the Transport Manager where necessary to ensure relevant follow up action is taken
  • Work closely with Transport Operation staff to identify and plan for relevant resources to be redeployed on an ongoing basis
  • Identify any barriers to plans and takes appropriate action to ensure adequate resources are in place and any issues relating to collection, transportation and delivery of goods are addressed
  • Work closely with workshop colleagues to ensure resource requirements and service schedules are identified and met
  • Provide cover for the Customer Service and Transport Teams where required
  • Promote company values and code of conduct in all that you do and to others you come into contact with
  • Adhere to company rules, policies, procedures consistently and encourage others to do the same
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that confidentiality is applied where appropriate

Requirements

  • Qualified to Level 2 Supply Chain Operator or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a team-based office environment, preferably in a customer-facing role
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Extensive knowledge and application of transport regulations and health and safety procedures
  • Ability to use initiative and to be so organised that key tasks can be completed fully and on time
  • Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven arithmetic skills
  • Enjoy working within a team
