Job Description:

As a Drive Qualification Engineer, you will work as part of a team responsible for all phases of drive qualification and release. As part of the drive team, the overall focus of the group is on timely and accurate testing and certification of the Netapp storage products. This position is responsible for engaging with external and internal resources and driving the execution of drive certification and testing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Creating/reviewing/writing test procedures for storage system products
  • Applying current skills to plan system level testing as part of the development cycle
  • Working on the environmental test planning for products through the product life
  • Problem solving issues during test and product release
  • Documenting/coordinating test schedules with external resources
  • Reviewing partner or Supplier test plans
  • Work closely with the tool engineers to define test requirements of program
  • Define debug efforts for root cause in the event of a field failure
  • As part of a team, you will participate in technical discussions where evaluating test plans for products are reviewed
  • A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute toward team, department, and company goals

Requirements:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of design engineering and system test
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards
  • Strong aptitude for learning new processes and procedures
  • Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
