Drill Rig Operator

Job Description

The drill machine operator is responsible for the set-up and running the roll drilling machine. You’ll be required to remove and install bearing and processing heads for the set-up operation. Any adjustments on the machine or roll alignments are the responsibility of the operator to ensure the drilling of all required patterns. Any upgrades to the programing of the machine will also be required in addition to training other operators. Following all specifications within the job function will enable Valmet to provide a quality product to our customer.

Job Responsibility

  • Set-up and run the roll drilling machine
  • Remove and install bearing and processing heads for the set-up operation
  • Make adjustments on the machine or roll alignments to ensure the drilling of all required patterns
  • Perform upgrades to the programming of the machine
  • Train other operators
  • Follow all specifications within the job function to provide a quality product

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Solid understanding of the manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Ability to understand and follow product specifications
  • Strong computer skills

Nice to have

Mechanical aptitude coupled with strong computer skills
