Job Responsibility

  • Contribute to a diverse range of Dredging and coastal projects Including delivery of dredging, coastal and marine engineering projects, to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements for private and public sector clients
  • Contribute to dredging feasibility studies including dredging and reclamation conceptual designs, dredging and disposal placement methodologies, risk assessment, operability assessment, dredging productions and costings models
  • Act as a Project Manager for small to large scale dredging projects and lead the engagement with the end client. Activities include scheduling, stakeholder communication, financial and documentation management
  • Be part of a cross-discipline team, working with coastal engineers, cartographers, environmental scientists, GIS and approvals specialists
  • Be a technical leader in the dredging area, conducting internal reviews and contributing to the development of templates and workflows
  • Providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members
  • Write proposals and support with business development and customer relationship management

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Marine Engineering or other relevant area of study
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience post-graduation
  • Experience working within the Dredging sector with Exposure to dredging, coastal engineering, marine infrastructure or environmental management projects
  • Experience with relevant software such as GIS, CAD, MATLAB, and project management tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of coastal and marine environments, frameworks and processes, including sediment transport, coastal dynamics and marine systems
  • Understanding of project delivery principles, including planning, scheduling and stakeholder coordination
  • Working knowledge of Australian and/or international standards and guidelines relevant to the dredging and reclamation and associated QHSE
  • Experience working within the engineering/consulting sector including experience with proposals, costing models, and directly managing customers or external stakeholders
  • Relevant registration with recognized engineering body including chartered ship with Engineers Australia, and a RPEV/RPEQ or the ability to obtain one
