Job Description:

Pleater 1 marks pleats on drapery panel at pleat marking table and punches holes for metal grommets.

Job Responsibility:

  • Remove drapery from rack carefully, and place on pleat marker table
  • Read work ticket for special instructions and sign work ticket
  • Check work ticket for width, special returns, and special instructions
  • Subtract returns and overlaps from widths of drapery, look in pleat mark book for reading and correct number to mark drapery
  • Spread drapery out on table, clamp down with holders on each side of drapery, set returns, adjust seams, and mark drapery for pleat with invisible chalk
  • Seam fold each drapery and place on finish rack by date card numbers on corresponding work ticket
  • Report any defectiveness of drapery and any questions about drapery to supervisor, or place on a hold rack in a designated area to be checked by supervisor
  • Ensure drapery is correct by pleat marker before releasing to the next step for operation
  • Remove drapery from rack carefully, and place on grommet machine
  • Punch holes for metal grommets
  • Use Hyproflex machine to insert metal grommets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Spread drapery out on table, clamp down with holders on each side of drapery, set returns, adjust seams, and mark drapery for pleat with invisible chalk. Can only pleat 4 panels at a time, this is repeatedly done until all panels are marked according to work ticket.
  • Seam fold each drapery and place on finish rack by date card numbers on corresponding work ticket
  • Any defectiveness of drapery and any questions about drapery should be reported to supervisor, or placed on a hold rack in a designated area to be checked by supervisor
  • Drapery should be correct by pleat marker before releasing to the step for operation. Quality should be less than 1% and quantity should be 70-100% effectiveness, depending on workflow
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
