Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Drama to join a vibrant secondary school in Barnsley This is a full-time, long term supply role starting in September 2026. The school is well-regarded for its creative and inclusive ethos, offering a supportive environment where both staff and students are encouraged to excel and express themselves through the arts.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Drama across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum requirements
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence
  • Contribute to school performances, productions, and extracurricular activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning

Requirements

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience of teaching Drama and/or Music in a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Drama and Music
  • Two recent education or school-based references
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
