Job Description

EKFB is looking for a Drainage Coordinator to join the Routewide team based in Milton Keynes. The role involves supporting drainage design delivery, managing technical queries, and providing technical support across the HS2 project programme.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the management of drainage design delivery and the production and management of departures and technical queries
  • Liaise and closely work with the EKFB section design managers to provide technical support, recommendations and to ensure consistency across the programme
  • Help the overall design delivery as per schedule
  • Support the management of drainage design change through the construction lifecycle
  • Provide technical support to the Structures and Drainage Discipline Lead for non-drainage related items when required
  • Identify, track, report on and manage, where required, critical technical drainage challenges that can have a significant impact to the whole programme
  • Manage the production of standard or programme-wide solutions to support the delivery of individual drainage designs
  • Lead the management of programme-wide drainage related optimisations in liaison with other EKFB teams
  • Support section-specific drainage related optimisations and promote their applicability across the programme
  • Support the commercial and contractual management of programme-wide issues related to drainage design, consents, completion and handover including early warnings, risk reduction meetings and compensation events
  • Manage and respond to relevant commercial communications (TQs, EWs, EIs, CEs etc.) on CEMAR
  • Provide guidance and support for section-specific issues in liaison with EKFB section design teams
  • Maintain close liaison and collaboration with HS2 technical team as required
  • Represent EKFB on technical drainage matters when required
  • Provide strategies, guidance and support for the opening and handover of completed permanent drainage assets
  • Support the production and tracking of programme-wide drainage metrics and progress

Requirements

  • Degree or similar level qualification in civil engineering or other relevant field
  • Ideally chartered or working towards chartership
  • Experience in construction and/or design, including drainage activities
  • Experience in the management of internal and external interfaces
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Understanding of NEC contract mechanisms (Early Warnings, Technical Queries, etc.)
  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation and technical records
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Smart Connect)
  • Experience with assurance processes and document control
  • Driving licence and access to the vehicle is required for this role
