Job Description:

Our client, a company located in Ville St-Laurent, is looking to fill a full-time permanent position of Draftsperson/Designer – Market Implementation. The selected candidate will report to the senior industrial designer and will be responsible for designing displays, products, and packaging for hardware stores and home improvement retailers in Canada and the United States. Key responsibilities include creating technical drawings, producing 3D renderings, managing design files, analyzing costs, and communicating with manufacturers.

Job Responsibility:

Create technical drawings and illustrations for displays, packaging, and products offered in the retail market
Analyze and interpret technical information from suppliers
Produce 3D renderings for presentations to internal and external clients
Maintain the parts database used in the design of displays and products
Manage technical drawing files and ensure they are updated
Prepare specifications and evaluate project costs and materials
Communicate with display manufacturers to submit production requests
Follow up on the completion of displays with manufacturers

Requirements:

DEP or DEC in technical drawing or a related field
Experience in a similar role with knowledge of the retail industry
Proficiency in SolidWorks (Keyshot is an asset)
Ability to develop reliable manufacturing plans and files
Bilingual (French and English) both written and spoken
Good knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (a plus)
Autonomous, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills with a good sense of initiative
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Quick execution with respect to deadlines
