Job Description:

CommScope is looking to add a Drafter (1st shift) to join our Engineering team in Bermudez Plant in Juarez Chih., Mex. This position is to work in the 1st shift. The primary responsibility of this position will be to support new product development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support new product development
  • Process engineering changes of drawings and bills of materials using CAD Software, the MRP system, and the engineering release system
  • Request prototype jobs and create necessary documentation to process them
  • Develop varied and routine assignments with engineer direction
  • Performs basic analysis of geometric tolerances in the assessment of problems related to product assembly’s design
  • Contributes with design modifications to aid in the manufacturing and quality of products
  • Assist and support the design engineers with the evaluation, assessment and resolution of the problems associated with product design
  • Develop awareness of corporate, business unit, and department quality management system documentation
  • Develop awareness of CAD software capabilities
  • Develop awareness of design and drafting practices for the range of parts and assemblies
  • Develop awareness of manufacturing practices for the range of parts and assemblies
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and group training

Requirements:

  • Currently studying Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field related to Design or incomplete Degree or Technical Degree
  • Skilled user of 3D CAD software
  • Knowledge and skilled user of MS Office
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing
  • English (50% or above)- Capability in oral/read/written communication
  • Available to work a full-time schedule
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Bill of Material structure
  • Familiarity with drawing and tolerance standards
  • Technical drawing
  • Knowledge of Product Development Process
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively work within a team environment
  • Time-management skills
  • Creativity, be able to turn plans and ideas into engineering drawings

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge CREO/CAD software
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of sheet metal or plastics design and manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with the product development process in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with fiber optic products
