Job Description:

A renowned LGBTQIA+ venue in the heart of Blackpool’s vibrant scene, The Flying Handbag provides leading hospitality to its community. A dedicated team provide an excellent service to guests whether popping in for a drink or enjoying one of the many events hosted at The Handbag. Owned by Daniel Thwaites, The Flying Handbag is perfect for someone looking for a supportive work environment, amongst the busy nightlife of Blackpool.

Job Responsibility:

  • Attend shift briefings
  • Respond to health and safety concerns and complete documentation
  • Effective communication in person and via radios
  • Incident reporting
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers and staff
  • Searches for weapons, drugs, or prohibited items
  • Support with Emergency evacuation procedures
  • Enforce entry policies (ID Checks, intoxication levels etc)
  • Deal with conflict calmly using de-escalation techniques
  • Handle complaints and customers professionally
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere
  • Ensure all exits, fire exits, and emergency routes are unobstructed
  • Respond to incidents quickly and professionally (Fights, medical incidents, disorder)

Requirements:

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
  • Proven experience in a busy hospitality environment
  • Previous Security experience
  • Experience/understanding of Licencing and the objectives
  • Able to follow processes and company standards
  • Confident communicator
  • Confident in dealing with complex situations
  • Demonstrates values of warm hospitality, innovation, eye for detail and craftsmanship
