The Door Attendant creates a strong sense of arrival for the hotel, restaurant, and banquet guests by working with the Valet team to arrange for cars to be parked and/or retrieved and arranges transportation for guests.
Job Responsibility:
Greet guests who arrive by private car, taxi, or limo by opening their car door and welcoming them to the hotel
Assist guests descending from cars
Issue appropriate valet parking ticket to guests
Give verbal greeting to guests arriving on foot
Open hotel doors for all guest
Unload guest luggage from car, tag it, and issue claim ticket to the Guest Relations agent assisting the guest
Transfer luggage to the Bell Staff
Assure the smooth flow of traffic on the drive by directing guest cars and taxis to the appropriate positions and directing valet parkers to park cars
Provide guests with directions, recommendations, and information about the city and its attractions
Hail taxis as needed
Load luggage in cars for departing guests
Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible
resolve customer complaints, assist customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, etc
Greet all guests passing through Front Door and offers them assistance
Maintain cleanliness on the driveway and hotel entrance
Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of Guest Relations and Valet Parking Staff
Requirements:
Prior Door Attendant experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Extensive knowledge of the Fort Lauderdale area and popular local attractions
Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job
knowledge of HotSOS preferred/is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 100 lbs
US work authorization is required
