Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Donor Database Specialist to join our team in Seattle, Washington. In this part-time contract role, you will play a key part in managing donor databases, processing gifts, and supporting fundraising initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization through effective data management and donor engagement.

Job Responsibility

  • Process and record incoming gifts, pledges, and in-kind donations while maintaining accurate donor records
  • Assist with managing event-related donations by importing data into donor platforms and generating gift receipts
  • Conduct detailed research to identify potential donors, analyzing their financial capacity and philanthropic interests
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of event websites and donation platforms, ensuring smooth integration with donor systems
  • Collaborate on preparing financial reconciliation and appeal performance reports to evaluate fundraising campaigns
  • Assist in system upgrades, testing, and integration of third-party donation platforms to enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide outreach to donors with declined payment methods, ensuring continuity in monthly contributions
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to optimize database management and donor engagement strategies
  • Support the preparation of documentation and reports for annual audits and fundraising appeals
  • Update and renew profiles on third-party donation platforms, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance

Requirements

  • Proven experience in donor database management and gift processing
  • Strong skills in business development and identifying donor opportunities
  • Proficiency in tools such as Word, Excel, and donor platforms like Classy, Benevity, and Greater Giving
  • Ability to conduct in-depth donor research using online resources and other databases
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial and philanthropic data
  • Effective communication skills for donor outreach and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of fundraising and event management processes
  • Familiarity with reconciliation and audit preparation for fundraising activities
