This role is specifically for our domiciliary palliative care role, supporting individuals with life limiting conditions to remain safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own homes. We deliver holistic support, including personal care, pain management assistance, emotional support, and companionship always delivered with dignity, sensitivity, and respect.
Job Responsibility:
Provide sensitive support with washing, dressing, continence care, repositioning, and comfort measures
Follow palliative care plans, assist with safe medication prompts, and observe and report changes in symptoms
Offer reassurance, companionship, and a calming presence to individuals and their families
Ensure every aspect of care is delivered with compassion, privacy, and respect
Assist in creating a peaceful, person-centred environment
Assist with safe food and drink preparation, or with comfort feeding
Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home setting
Work alongside families, offering guidance, support, and reassurance
Document changes, follow care plans carefully, and communicate concerns promptly
Work with district nurses, GPs, and hospice teams to support coordinated care
Requirements:
A kind, patient, and compassionate attitude
Experience in a care or support role
Strong communication and emotional resilience
Understanding of person-centred and dignity-focused care
Ability to work calmly and independently
Flexibility to support individuals whose needs may change quickly
Willingness to work with families and healthcare professionals
A full UK driving licence – Essential
Availability for weekend work
Nice to have:
Palliative care experience
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
