Job Description:

Our client, based in North Dublin, are currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their dynamic logistics team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and schedule daily domestic routes to ensure efficient and on-time deliveries across the country
  • Use planning software and data analysis tools to optimize transportation routes for cost-effectiveness and fuel efficiency
  • Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or delays
  • Track shipments and ensure deliveries are completed on time while adhering to safety and compliance standards
  • Ensure all transport operations comply with Irish transport laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate transport records and documentation
  • Identify and resolve any transportation issues such as delays, breakdowns, or diversions in real-time
  • Monitor and manage transportation costs, finding ways to reduce expenses while maintaining high service levels

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a domestic transport or logistics planning role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and transport management systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to solve problems and handle operational challenges
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners
  • A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
