Job Description

We have a part time domestic support worker post (band 2). 30 hrs working 5 out of 7 on a pro rota within our tukes/navigo domestics team, working across all our navigo sites. The role is instrumental to the success of the whole of the TUKES team to ensure that the ethos of TUKES can reach its full potential as part of a bigger picture.

Job Responsibility

  • Work as part of a domestic team in achieving and maintaining high infection control standards in all inpatient facilities
  • Ensure daily communication between the team is recorded, cleaning cupboards kept clean and well maintained and any minor problems dealt with in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring sites are of hospital standard, recording and reporting issues to the Domestic team Supervisor
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the laundry function including the laundering and ironing of all non-personal items associated with the inpatient facilities
  • Be flexible in both hours and travel as required to work on different sites
  • Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations are met
  • Play a significant role in Tukes members support programme ensuring they are adequately supported and trained
  • Undertake a wide range of duties in relation to domestic services on both acute and community sites
  • Ensure any additional requests from the sites are dealt with efficiently and effectively
  • Conduct yourself in a friendly, efficient and approachable manner
  • Be the first point of contact for Staff and Managers to ensure standards and expectations are maintained
  • Attend and meet Navigo mandatory training standards
  • Deal with minor problems on site, reporting any escalating issues
  • Work professionally as part of the bigger team
  • Contribute towards an efficient and high standard of cleaning to meet CQC standards
  • Provide support for meaningful occupation of time and work placement training to assist in the development of service users

  • Demonstrates self-confidence and good attitude
