We have a part time domestic support worker post (band 2) 20 hrs working 5 out of 7 on a pro rota within our tukes/navigo domestics team, working across all our navigo sites. The role is instrumental to the success of the whole of the TUKES team to ensure that the ethos of TUKES can reach its full potential as part of a bigger picture.
Job Responsibility:
Work as part of a domestic team in achieving and maintaining high infection control standards in all inpatient facilities
Ensure daily communication between the team is recorded, cleaning cupboards kept clean and well maintained and any minor problems dealt with in a timely manner
Ensure sites are of hospital standard, recording and reporting issues to the Domestic team Supervisor
Assist in the smooth operation of the laundry function including the laundering and ironing of all non-personal items
Be flexible in both hours and travel as there will be occasions when required to work on different sites
Ensure Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations are met
Play a significant role in Tukes members support programme ensuring they are adequately supported and are in receipt of the correct level training
Undertake a wide range of duties in relation to domestic services on both acute and community sites
Ensure that any additional requests from the sites are dealt with efficiently and effectively
Conduct yourself in a friendly, efficient and approachable manner
Attend and meet Navigo mandatory training standards and any other training as required
Deal with minor problems on the site, reporting any issues which may escalate
Work professionally as part of the bigger team which is NAViGO
Provide support for meaningful occupation of time and work placement training to assist in the development of our service users
Requirements:
General education
General IT experience
Domestic Experience
Working Knowledge Ordering and Stock Control
Ability to work to high standards within restrictive timescales
Excellent customer service skills
Good attitude and approachable

Willingness to undertake further training as required

Working within a hospital/mental health environment
Team Leading qualification or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of healthcare facilities
Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems
Ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise/meet deadlines
Ability and willingness to undertake other duties within area of competence
