Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our care home, Dovehaven House, located on Moss Road in Southport. You will be working 36-hours per week - 9am - 6pm on a rota basis with alternate weekend availability required. We are a caring, friendly team who pride ourselves on providing a secure, happy and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and visitors and maintaining the home to a very high standard.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring clean safe environment for residents, visitors and staff
  • following daily schedule for cleaning
  • hoovering
  • dusting
  • polishing
  • shampooing carpets
  • mopping floors
  • any other duties as required
  • laundry duties including looking after all clothing and bedding
  • ensuring everything is labelled and washed according to washing instructions
  • ironing to high standard

Requirements:

  • Caring nature and positive attitude
  • desire to deliver best possible standard of domestic and laundry service
  • ideally previous domestic experience
  • committed to ensuring highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and appearance
  • able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in approach to older people
  • team player but able to work on own initiative
  • dependable and flexible to meet needs of residents and the Home
