We are hiring a Domestic Gas Remedial Engineer who is quality driven, dynamic and a skilled individual who is looking for a new adventure in the construction and engineering industry. As our Domestic Gas Remedial Engineer, you will be expected to deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across heating and hot water systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, KPI targets, and budgetary controls. The role supports operational performance through accurate diagnostics, effective repairs, and exceptional customer service.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance within agreed programmes, budgets, and quality standards
Conduct inspections and remedial works on domestic gas appliances and systems within domestic gas properties
Complete follow-up remedial work from gas safety inspections to ensure full compliance
Carry out gas pipework upgrades, repairs, capping, purging, and leak rectification as needed
Communicate clearly and respectfully with tenants to explain work being carried out and ensure minimal disruption
Carry out gas servicing, testing of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and boiler/HIU breakdown repairs
Complete job sheets, PDA updates, daily logs, and weekly timesheets accurately and on time
Adhere to safe working practices and maintain the safety of colleagues and the public at all times
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality service and achieve excellent customer satisfaction
Ensure all planned commitments, KPIs, and service levels are met
Supervise and support apprentices in line with company policies and procedures
Provide outstanding customer service in all interactions
Attend all required toolbox talks and comply with the company’s Health & Safety Policy
Undertake additional duties as required by management
Maintain company vehicle to a high standard, including arranging servicing and reporting malfunctions promptly
Requirements:
ACS / Gas Safe certified with the ability to demonstrate relevant experience
CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT (essential)
Unvented Hot Water qualification
Minimum of 5 years experience in gas servicing
Proven background as a qualified heating/gas service engineer in communal and/or domestic settings
Ability to use PDA devices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
Full, clean UK driving licence (must be maintained)
Nice to have:
HIU certification (desirable)
Heat Pump experience (desirable)
Experience with gas fires, cylinders, and HRU Systems
