Job Description:

The role of a Domestic assistant is to ensure that the home communal areas, resident bedrooms and office spaces are undertaken to a high standard and be aware of the homes needs. The care home provides both residential and dementia care. The Home includes facilities such as an in-house bar, a full beauty salon and hairdressing room and cinema.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure that the home communal areas, resident bedrooms and office spaces are undertaken to a high standard
  • Use of chemicals and cleaning equipment responsibly and within health and safety guidelines
  • Clear waste in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain Health and safety throughout the home for residents, visitors and staff
  • Keep a high standard of appearance and tidiness throughout the home
  • Respect each residents’ belongings being mindful of their privacy and dignity
  • Ensure that the laundry room is a safe environment for staff and conforms to legislation
  • Ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well maintained laundry
  • Maintain a high standard of laundry in accordance with environmental health requirements
  • Check the condition of domestic equipment and report any malfunctions, hazards or potential hazards
  • Undertake isolation cleaning where required
  • Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness be maintained throughout the Servery and dining area
  • Carry out general servery and dining room duties, such as setting tables, washing up and serving meals to residents
  • May include at times taking meals to Residents rooms and tidying away
  • May be a requirement to carry out the Tea round
