Job Description

The Nelson Trust have a small residential safe space accommodation unit for women experiencing domestic abuse and accompanying complex needs. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate woman-focused professional to lead the project.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure shift coverage and that it is safely managed 24/7
  • Ensure that any voids are filled – this includes working with referrers and assessing women's suitability for residency
  • Ensure all paperwork is up-to-date including timely submissions of housing benefit claims and service charge is paid in full every month
  • Provide support line management support to staff
  • Manage the health and safety of the building
  • Ensure accurate recording of client's case management system

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Experience of working in a supported housing setting (desirable)
  • A demonstrable understanding of the need for, and ability to, deliver quality services
  • Experience of working with people affected by substance misuse issues (desirable)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lone work and as part of a wider team
  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector (desirable)
  • Ability to liaise with service users, respond where appropriate in a professional confident manner and escalating where needed
  • Line management experience and staff rotas

Nice to have

  • Experience of working in a supported housing setting
  • Experience of working with people affected by substance misuse issues
  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector
