The Document Controller is responsible for the accurate, timely, and responsive management of engineering drawings and project documentation to support investigations, projects, and change management proposals. This role ensures that updated drawings and documents are approved, recorded, and made available within site records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will maintain configuration control and traceability of project documentation, supporting engineering and project teams by providing document control services aligned with the organisation’s standards and business management systems. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers is essential to maintain document integrity, security, and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
Job Responsibility
Managing the provision, filing, and retrieval of drawings and documents
Ensuring site records are promptly updated with approved documentation
Maintaining document control procedures in line with company policies and regulatory standards
Supporting the production and distribution of change management proposals
Maintaining document registers, trackers, and electronic document management systems
Requirements
High attention to detail with consistent accuracy in data and information input
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
Developed planning, coordinating, organising, and communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly with non-specialist audiences
Broad understanding of document retention policies and document standards
Knowledge of security procedures related to document classification and storage
Familiarity with business management systems and document control processes
Experience working in a highly regulated environment
Customer orientation and collaborative working skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or relevant experience
Knowledge of company-specific document management and security standards
Understanding of regulatory and quality management system requirements
Broad knowledge and understanding of the URENCO Business Management Systems
