Job Description:

We are seeking high-energy Dock Workers with a background in LTL/FTL to join our fast-paced freight facility in Calgary. If you’re a pro on a Counterbalance forklift but aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and "hand-bomb" when the dock gets busy, we want to talk to you. Stop chasing shifts. Choose the routine that fits your life: Day Shift: Monday – Friday. Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday. Full-time hours with weekly pay via direct deposit.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely loading, unloading, and staging LTL and FTL freight for daily dispatch
  • Operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift to move pallets in a high-traffic environment
  • Stepping off the machine to hand-bomb and stack boxes (up to 50 lbs) to ensure secure, transport-ready loads
  • Using RF scanners to track inbound/outbound shipments with 100% accuracy

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience specifically in transportation, freight, or cross-docking
  • You know LTL/FTL procedures like the back of your hand
  • A valid Counterbalance Forklift certificate (or verifiable expert-level experience)
  • You have your own vehicle (the site is NOT transit accessible) and a rock-solid work ethic
  • You are ready to start immediately

  • Lead all preparations for dock, yard, and transportation execution, including trailer flow design, staging plans, pre-receiving workflows, shipping lanes, returns processes, and carrier readiness
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Start-Up teams on SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for dock equipment, yard systems, yard tractors, sensors, and automation supporting dock-level operations
  • Ensure all dock-related 5S work, signage, safety barriers, trailer restraints, and traffic plans are completed before go-live
  • Onboard and validate all transportation and dock vendors, including carriers, yard management services, and MHE providers
  • Serve as the on-site leader for dock, yard, and transportation execution, directing daily operations during ramp-up
  • Manage and deploy ~100 hourly associates (dock workers, yard spotters, clerks, and transportation support roles)
  • Oversee inbound and outbound trailer movement, live vs. drop prioritization, pre-receiving planning, dispatch readiness, returns handling, and value-added services
  • Validate WMS/WES transaction accuracy for trailer check-in/out, load closures, yard map movements, and dock-door assignments
  • Monitor dock cycle times, unload/load pacing, transportation service levels, and carrier compliance
  • Troubleshoot operational and system issues in real time to stabilize performance
