As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club Operations team, the Dock Experience Manager serves as the primary leader at the location level to ensure consistent delivery of remarkable member and employee experiences while driving accountability of fleet condition and exceeding performance expectations. In addition to running the daily logistics of the area location(s) you will be expected to perform all duties required of the Dock Staff. This position is full-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibility:
Hire, train, and supervise all dock level personnel
Ensure all dock staff have proper certifications and up-to-date training
Ensure all best practices and SOPs are communicated and adhered to
Develop monthly dock staff schedule to maximize efficiency and review and approve payroll
Travel to locations within the district to support employees, monitor departmental efficiencies, and ensure fleet is maintained to brand standards
Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees to drive positive employee engagement
Hold employees consistently accountable to performance management expectations and complete annual performance evaluations
Ensure adequate inventory and supply levels are being maintained at each location
Correspond with members on all location related issues including complaints, fuel disputes, vessel damages and miscellaneous dock charges
Investigate member misconduct and complete all incident reports
Responsible for member satisfaction and retention
Review general member concerns and analyze Qualtrics member feedback
Ensure fleet condition is up to brand standards and in constant state of readiness using Fleetio
Ensure employees are completing tasks in Fleetio including inspections, issues/incidents, work orders, inventory, and ordering parts/supplies
Create and execute a weekly cleaning and maintenance schedule
Submit work orders to the Maintenance Operations Center
Maintain KPIs at each location including reservation reports, usage reports, and time sheets
Maintain and manage operating budget and control costs for each location
Maintain accurate fuel logs and ensure all vessels are fueled regularly
Acquaint yourself with local marina managers/harbor master’s and promote a positive working relationship
Become familiar with local waterways and popular boating destinations and adhere to all safety policies
Provide process improvement input and suggestions to your manager
Ensure personal appearance and uniform guidelines are being adhered to
Responsible for all safety performance at each location
Operate within prescribed safety SOPs, and proactively ensure member and employee safety
Lead dock staff all hand’s meetings
Requirements:
Pass a background check and drug screen
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate’s or Vocational degree
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license
Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
Strong verbal and written communication and people skills
Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
Managerial and diplomacy skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree
Or 1-3 years of related operations experience
Boating safety ID card
Vessel livery operator’s certification
Experience in and around boats is desirable
Ability to perform minor boat maintenance
Prior management experience
