We are looking for an experienced Divisional/Plant Controller to support a manufacturing environment in Jurupa Valley, California. This Contract position requires a hands-on accounting leader who can oversee complex close activities, strengthen financial reporting, and ensure accurate recognition of project-based revenue. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cost accounting, internal controls, and public company reporting standards while partnering closely with operational teams to improve visibility into plant performance.
Job Responsibility
Direct monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring timely completion and accuracy across divisional and plant-level reporting
Oversee revenue accounting for long-term or project-driven work, applying percentage-of-completion principles and job cost analysis appropriately
Produce, analyze, and refine financial reports and schedules using advanced Excel capabilities and enterprise reporting platforms
Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory-related activity, and plant performance metrics to support sound financial decision-making
Maintain a strong control environment by enforcing accounting policies, supporting compliance efforts, and upholding SOX-related requirements
Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to track costs, explain variances, and improve reporting around production results
Review accounting data within systems such as NetSuite and Hyperion to support consolidated reporting and management insights.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in accounting or controllership roles, including significant exposure to manufacturing environments
Background supporting large public companies with a strong understanding of financial governance and reporting expectations
Demonstrated experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and detailed job costing practices
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables
Working knowledge of enterprise systems such as NetSuite and Hyperion
Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
