This is a long-term contract position within the manufacturing industry, focusing on financial leadership and operational support in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and profitability.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the plant’s profit and loss statements, inventory accounting, and financial operations in accordance with batch and lot-controlled manufacturing processes
Lead the development and analysis of standard costing, including cost rollups and variance evaluations across materials, labor, and overhead
Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in raw materials, finished goods, and addressing yield, scrap, spoilage, and rework
Ensure proper accounting practices for production outputs, including co-products and by-products, while maintaining compliance with financial standards
Direct month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Support both internal and external audit processes, including physical inventory counts and traceability requirements
Partner with the Plant Manager and operations leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for operational improvements
Evaluate production efficiency, labor utilization, and material consumption to identify cost-saving opportunities
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, while monitoring key performance indicators and preparing detailed performance reports
Serve as the finance subject matter expert for systems like ProcessPro, including managing BOMs, routings, and production variances
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing finance, preferably in food or process manufacturing
Proficiency in month-end close processes and manufacturing cost accounting
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for complex financial analysis
Strong knowledge of financial reporting and controllership practices
Experience with ProcessPro or similar manufacturing ERP systems
Excellent analytical and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
Proven ability to lead financial processes and drive operational improvements
