Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Divisional/Plant Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Liberty, Missouri. This hands-on role will focus on ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and maintaining smooth accounting operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with operational teams to deliver timely financial insights and support the company’s objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Manage cost accounting activities to analyze and control production costs effectively
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Collaborate with operational teams to align financial strategies with business goals
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create detailed financial models and analyses
  • Implement and oversee the use of Concur for expense reporting and management
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
  • Address and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team on-site
  • Support audits and ensure readiness for external reviews

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or controllership roles
  • Strong expertise in month-end close processes and cost accounting
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and statement preparation
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis
  • Familiarity with Concur or similar expense management tools
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with operational teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
