Job Description:

This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic service-based organization. The role requires a hands-on approach to financial operations, with a focus on ensuring stability and efficiency during an organizational transition.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
  • Manage job costing and project accounting, including monitoring margins, labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses
  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance standards
  • Develop cash flow projections and manage accounts receivable aging to ensure financial health
  • Collaborate with project managers and field operations to enhance job profitability
  • Support system transition efforts by adapting to new ERP platforms and documenting processes
  • Assess current financial processes and controls, identifying areas for improvement and scalability
  • Diagnose long-term financial leadership needs and recommend organizational adjustments
  • Build frameworks for efficient reporting and operational insights to drive decision-making

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in job costing and project accounting, including percent complete calculations and margin tracking
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong proficiency in managing accounts receivable, billing cycles, and cash forecasting
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and an ability to adapt during system transitions
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Ability to coach and develop accounting staff at the entry level
  • Resilience and adaptability to manage volume spikes during high-demand periods
