Job Description:

As the senior financial resource for the Alberta OSB mills, you will work with the management groups in both Grande Prairie and High Level to operate and grow successful operations. You will be physically located at the Grande Prairie Division, with a percentage of time spent at the High Level Division, and will report to the Regional Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • The preparation of timely and accurate full-cycle accounting for each division, including monthly journal entries, financial statement package, reconciliations, and required reporting
  • Providing operational & financial support and analysis for each Division’s Management Teams and the Corporate Head Office
  • Supervision of administrative office staff and coaching of operational personnel on financial matters relating to their area of responsibility
  • Coordination and preparation of annual business plan
  • Participation in the Management Team and providing value-added decision support

Requirements:

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Well established organizational & leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detailed and proactive approach to work
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Oracle and/ or JD Edwards accounting software, considered a strong asset
  • Forestry industry experience is preferred but not required

  • As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be a key resource in the Shared Service team that uses your accounting ability to align and adherence to Morris Group policies, accounting standards and US GAAP
