Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity to build your career in a world class team and support the defence systems that keep Australia safe. We are seeking applications for a quality focused Diving and Hyperbaric Technician based in Caringbah, NSW. Reporting to the Team Leader, the position is responsible for undertaking service and maintenance of diving support equipment, principally hyperbaric systems and military rebreathers with an exceptional focus on quality.

Job Responsibility:

  • The disassembly, testing and reassembly of a range of commercial and defence diving equipment
  • Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
  • Carry out planned and corrective maintenance of equipment
  • Maintaining, following and completing paperwork such as service documentation, drawings and work instructions

Requirements:

  • Mechanical trade qualified (desired)
  • Experience in servicing hyperbaric systems, breathing apparatus (commercial or diving equipment), or working within aviation or marine safety equipment maintenance environments is desirable but not essential
  • Computer literate – basic knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Ability to gain security access to AUS Defence establishments, hold a police clearance and gain required security clearance

  • Experience in servicing hyperbaric systems, breathing apparatus (commercial or diving equipment), or working within aviation or marine safety equipment maintenance environments

  • Raise requisitions for spare parts and ensure the correct components are available for ongoing work
  • Work in accordance with all relevant IMCA DESIGN standards (DO18/23/24/53/63)
  • Provide flexibility for rota/shift work to support trials, tests, verification activities, and general workshop operations
