Job Description:

At CVS Health, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cover scheduling gaps within a district to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. DSPs play a vital role by improving patient care, coaching teams, managing inventories, and delivering immunizations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company policies while fostering a culture of excellence. Flexible scheduling and travel are required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and improve patient health through dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Travel to cover pharmacist shifts
  • Oversee the pharmacy and act as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during shifts
  • Ensure prescription fulfillment accuracy
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory following best practices
  • Help improve patient outcomes through clinical care
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Provide holistic and compassionate care
  • Resolve insurance and medication issues proactively
  • Train Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
  • Keep skills current through training

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention to task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
  • Effective verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Utilize active listening
  • Use math to solve problems
  • Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
  • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead
  • Extend hands and arms to place, move, or lift items
  • Perform repetitive finger movements like typing
  • Stoop to move items between low and high positions
  • Have close visual acuity for tasks such as reading and transcribing
  • Lift or exert force up to 20 lbs
  • Exchange ideas verbally
  • Receive detailed information orally
  • Complete other tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
