District Sales Manager for the Rocky Mountain territory covering Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon & Alaska, focusing on Tepezza (Ocular) for Rare Disease. The role involves leading a team of Specialty Account Managers to drive market penetration in the Endocrinology space.
Job Responsibility:
Lead area geography and team of Specialty Account Managers (SAMs) to ensure market penetration
Analyze and understand market dynamics and data
Set related strategic action plans and ensure excellence in execution to achieve sales goals within the Endocrinology space
Provide a clear, compelling sales purpose both clinically and business wise for the team members
Ensure the effective and appropriate use of resources
Build business strategy and strategic impact in line with corporate and therapeutic area goals
Lead market development initiatives
Manage administrative duties, ongoing learning of self and team members, operational expenses, program funding
Ensure that team members operate within regulatory guidelines
Ensure the team is trained and prepared to maximize business/sales potential
Work closely with and effectively collaborate across all divisions within the business unit
Develop an atmosphere of confidence and strength
Build an organization reflecting a highly professional workforce
Address performance issues decisively and appropriately
Develop internal and external customer relationships
Foster informative flow of insights
Develop and communicate a professional growth plan for self and team members
Continually educate self and team on Endocrinology market issues / trends
Apply new / innovative technologies to enhance efficiency
Conduct weekly ride-alongs with written feedback and coaching
Represent the organization at local, regional and national trade shows
Provide input to regional and national sales meetings
Strive to maintain a safe working environment
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor
Adhere to all policies and procedures of Amgen
Requirements:
Doctorate degree AND 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience
Master's degree AND 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience
Bachelor's degree AND 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Requires approximately 80% travel, some overnight and weekend commitments
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Professional, proactive demeanor
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
Sales experience in biologics, infusion, and/or rare/specialty products
Rare disease experience strongly preferred
Rare Disease launch experience
Immunology and / or Rheumatology experience
