A Refreshments District Manager is responsible for providing the overall vision, planning, direction, and control for assigned Market Centers and client locations within a defined geographic district, typically generating $20–$40M+ in annual revenue. This critical leadership role is accountable for executing the Refreshments operating model, with a strong emphasis on profitable growth, operational excellence, cost control, and productivity, while developing high-performing teams and consistently delivering financial commitments. Whether overseeing multiple Market Centers, complex client portfolios, or a mix of traditional vending, micro-market, and office coffee service operations, the District Manager’s key success measures include Revenue Growth, EBIT, Margin Performance, Consumer Experience, Client Retention and Expansion, Route & Asset Optimization, and Employee Engagement. In this role, travel to the offsite location in Sacramento and client sites across the district is expected to ensure strong operational execution, client satisfaction, and leadership presence in the field.
Job Responsibility:
Establish full ownership and accountability for Refreshments operations (vending, micro-markets, and office coffee service) and the financial performance of multiple Market Centers, accounts, and routes
Model strong leadership behaviors and ensure high standards of safety, food safety, asset integrity, and service execution
Coach and mentor leaders and frontline teams by creating clarity around route execution, inventory discipline, asset accuracy, and service expectations
Identify, develop, and retain top talent

Ensure consistent compliance with OSHA, food safety, sanitation, and warehouse safety standards
Build and maintain strong client partnerships to deliver exceptional Refreshments experiences and mutually beneficial business outcomes
Proactively identify client needs related to consumer experience, product mix, pricing, equipment performance, and service cadence, and communicate progress effectively
Understand contractual obligations and identify opportunities for menu innovation, micro-market expansion, equipment upgrades, and service enhancements
Partner closely with Sales at all levels by providing operational and financial insight, supporting pre-sale assessments, reviewing and approving local deal economics, ensuring mobilization readiness, and delivering strong post-sale execution
Maintain a clear understanding of how deals impact revenue, margins, operating costs, and overall P&L performance
Support new business, expansions, and retention efforts in partnership with Sales, Operations, and Finance
Ensure teams consistently complete client and consumer satisfaction surveys and act on results
Drive revenue growth through strong execution, client retention, and expansion support while managing district budgets with discipline around labor, product costs, shrink, and asset utilization
Ensure accuracy and ownership of district-level P&L statements
Use Refreshments-specific systems (e.g., SF, FADL, inventory, and route performance tools) to manage performance
Analyze trends in R&R, margins, days on hand, product mix, and shrink
educate leaders on the financial levers that drive profitability
Evaluate and approve local deal economics to ensure alignment with district financial targets
Lead Market Center and field managers in executing Refreshments labor models, route optimization, and productivity initiatives aligned with corporate priorities
Drive value through efficient operations, disciplined cost control, and proactive profit management
Ensure consistent application of operating standards with emphasis on route efficiency, preventive maintenance, warehouse execution, service cadence, and asset accuracy
Understand the Refreshments supply chain and ensure use of authorized suppliers, approved products, and compliant equipment
Ensure a safe, compliant environment across warehouses, routes, and client sites
Enforce all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, including food safety, equipment safety, DOT/MVR, asset security, data privacy, and wage and hour compliance.
Requirements:
Proven leadership experience, typically acquired over 5-10 years, including P&L responsibility within the hospitality, retail, facilities, direct store delivery or food and beverage industries
Demonstrated leadership skills with a broad knowledge of management practices, business judgement and client/consumer interaction
Confirmed ability to hire, assess, develop and grow hard-working talent
Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms and conditions to address operational issues
Established communication and teamwork skills to work with all levels on the organization from the front line associate through leadership
Proven success in a repeatable business model, including leading through change and turnaround initiatives
Bachelor’s degree is generally required to be successful
