Job Description:

We are looking for a Distributor Assistant Manager to lead and manage a sales team within a designated distributor territory. The primary goal is to drive sales growth, optimize product distribution and visibility, ensure effective coverage, and increase market share. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional business acumen, and a solid understanding of working capital, ROI, and FMCG operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Translate monthly CD priorities and company strategy into actionable sales plans
  • Set and monitor sales targets for assigned distributors
  • Guide and support distributor sales teams in identifying opportunities, negotiating, and closing deals
  • Conduct regular market visits to ensure product availability, visibility, and campaign execution
  • Monitor sales activation and support MDM programs to build brand penetration
  • Analyze market data and sales reports to identify trends and opportunities by channel and category
  • Collaborate with distributors to recruit, train, and motivate high-performing sales teams
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations
  • Provide coaching and feedback to maximize team performance
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and business partners
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and address concerns promptly
  • Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities
  • Develop and implement effective outlet coverage strategies (direct & controlled stores)
  • Ensure proper PJP/frequency setting for distributor teams
  • Drive improvement in Field Capability Score (FCS) KPIs
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, promotion plans, and reports
  • Analyze sales data and competitor performance to identify gaps and develop action plans
  • Participate in monthly business reviews with distributors to ensure KPI delivery
  • Support RSMs with ROI and working capital analysis for healthy cash flow and profitability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or related roles, preferably in FMCG
  • Strong fundamentals in sales operations and disciplined execution
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong customer relationship management abilities
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and trends
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • High commitment, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with sales reporting and analysis tools
