Job Responsibility:
Maintains a periodic inventory of supplies for Procedural Inventory Areas
Performs advanced inventory management tasks including managing dated products to minimize cost to the department, communicates with Procedural Inventory Areas daily and adjusts ordering patterns to meet the needs of the area, and manages a constantly changing group of products caused by new technology, product back orders, and changes in clinical practice
Communicates daily with Procedural Inventory Area personnel on all supply related issues regarding availability of supplies to include back orders and acquire alternate items as directed, reports long lead time items and potential expiration of dated supplies
Recommends inventory levels that include considerations such as product usage, space allocation, lead time, reorder frequency and financial stewardship
Provides information and makes recommendation to designated Procedural Inventory Area staff regarding slow moving and nonmoving items
Partners with Supply Chain and Procedural Area leaders to identify and review consignment opportunities
Communicates consignment issues and concerns to the Customer Resource Specialist (CRS)
Serves as liaison for quarterly consignment audits
Assists vendors to ensure products to be exchanged are properly marked, staged and returned
Follows up with purchasing when expired consignment replacements are not replaced timely
Performs supply inventories of user storage areas and replenishes inventory to par levels
Delivers and stocks inventory items in Procedural Inventory Area suites and storage areas
Maintains inventory systems

Validates all receipts with Purchase Order information and report discrepancies to receiving
Performs daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and coordinates annual physical inventory counts

Makes hospital rounds and picks up patient care equipment on schedule and on as-needed basis, tears down and disinfects equipment and restocks shelves
Responds to requests for equipment and supplies in a timely manner
Pulls reporting for monitoring of equipment or supplies within the RFID and MMIS systems
Accurately stocks shelves using appropriate charge codes, when applicable, and maintains an adequate number of supplies to meet needs of departments
Scans all appropriate supplies and equipment to proper patient and location

Inspects patient equipment and assesses for functionality
enters work orders for repairs into computer system
Prepares cases for OR by pulling stock from warehouse and conducts inventory review of OR suites and Pyxis supply stations to ensure optimal levels of stock are available
Orders and restocks supplies as needed, returns unused stock to shelves, and regularly reviews for discontinued or out-of-date stock
Maintains inventory systems, inventories and stocks storage areas and specialty carts

Requirements:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Four (4) years of warehouse stocking experience, preferably in an acute care setting
Knowledge of warehousing and inventory control best practices
Knowledge of storage and stock rotation of all supplies stored in the department
Skill in preparing orders and delivering supplies
Skill in organizing supplies for quick viewing and access
Skill in organizing work for efficiency while pulling and delivering supplies and collecting returns
Skill in basic computer applications and keyboarding, which will include maintaining EXCEL spreadsheets
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to respond to needs in a fast paced environment
Ability to listen and accurately interpret others’ communication or instructions to take appropriate action
ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence
