Under minimal supervision, serve as a team lead within the distribution/fulfillment center. Provide guidance and assistance to coworkers in performing assigned tasks and system related training as needed. Identify and support data driven solutions for continuous improvement projects in employee safety, quality of work, or productivity of daily activities.
Job Responsibility:
Provide guidance and day to day daily direction for the team member activities within the distribution centers
Identify document and reports technical and/ or personnel problems to management
Coordinate with leadership and communicate work assignments as needed daily
Function as the subject matter expert to assist others with questions or process related issues in both EWM and SAP system tools
Serve as the primary point-of-contact to carriers for incoming and outgoing shipments
Support the inventory control team to conduct physical audit and inventory counts
identify and resolve count discrepancies
evaluate the cause for discrepancies and address to mitigate reoccurrence
Assist inventory control in the identification of appropriate storage/holding location for incoming materials
Maintain documentation and records, and produce written reports, in accordance with policies and procedures
Identify and document shipment discrepancies including percentage accuracy, defective reason codes, and corrections
Ensure distribution standards are maintained
keep the team informed of daily quota requirements to meet business needs
Serve as a trainer to new and current Team Members
answer questions and provide guidance
provide equipment training and set an example to others within the Distribution Centers
Serve as a safety champion and promotes the use of safe work habits and equipment
conducts regular visual safety inspection of forklifts and other bulk handling equipment
Work overtime as needed to support customer order requirements
Perform other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements:
High School Diploma or completion of GED equivalent
Minimum Three (3) years of shipping/ receiving experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
Valid license/certificate to operate a forklift
Knowledge of distribution/warehousing standards and processes in a CPG environment
Knowledge of bulk parcel shipping methods and requirements (i.e. FedEx and UPS)
Proficiency using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Word and Outlook
Proficiency using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably SAP and/or Extended Warehouse Management System (EWM)
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and across the Company
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours when necessary
Ability to operate large distribution and packaging equipment (i.e. stretch wrap machine)
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
