Job Description:

NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a skilled and energetic Clerk to join our growing team. Our Clerks could perform a variety of functions including inbound, outbound, UPS, Core Processing, Returns and RGN’s. Clerks are responsible for ensuring that all documents and functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This role may also involve communication with customers and vendors as needed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Inbound: Schedule inbound freight to align with warehouse operations and capacity. Verify receiving counts match packing lists and purchase orders. Collect all necessary documentation for inbound freight and route appropriately. Assist with Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) verifications
  • Outbound: Schedule outbound freight according to warehouse operations and capacity. Ensure proper application of labels and tickets before shipments are dispatched. Maintain security procedures at dock doors. Ensure all shipping documentation is completed timely and accurately
  • UPS Shipments: Print shipping labels, securely overpack products, and ensure proper sorting and routing of packages
  • Core Processing: Unload and stage core returns/defective cores, Sort and scan cores, completes all paperwork associated with core return procedures
  • Returns: Process all returns of classified merchandise to the DC by checking shipments for accuracy, completing all paperwork related to class returns and restocks parts in designated areas
  • RGN: Prepares and ship back all labor claims by checking DC stock, receives for jobbers, accumulates and creates claims & ships back to vendor all recall merchandise, while also answering questions from stores regarding warranties, rejections, repairs & returns & labor claims. Will also need to create claims for, and ship back claims to vendors for chemical defectives
  • Quality Control: Ensure shipments are accurate and free from damage. Report any quality variances promptly
  • Safety, Housekeeping, & Security: Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Support and comply with the company’s safety programs, policies, and initiatives
  • Decision Making: Proactively identify and resolve problems during daily warehouse operations
  • Meet or exceed production goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds and push or pull loads up to 300 pounds using mechanical aids
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, climb, and reach, including use of ladders when required
  • Good judgment and strong decision-making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Prior experience in shipping or receiving is preferred
  • Experience with computers and RF scanning equipment
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed
  • Capable and willing to operate warehouse equipment

  • Processes for correcting EDI or keys receipt of parts for incoming freight
  • Runs reports and reviews " old" open positions. Deletes old lines as necessary so parts can be reordered for DC stock
  • Writes checks at DC and maintains manual check log
  • Performs end of day accounting for stores and the transferring of funds from local bank account to HQ's bank account. Handles bad checks from customers of stores (do a journal entry and fill out Global Services payment slip). Investigates credit card disputes. Answers cash on demand calls by accessing store's AR to get true total of stores purchases
  • Researches results from jobber short paying DC, identifies and passes on to RGN clerk to do further research into each deducted item
  • Distributes month end AR statement to stores. Stores can get statement from Storefront but may also mail or email
  • Maintains miscellaneous account for transactions where funds are received from outside and then paid for various activities
  • Generates report where info is plugged in by the DC for any store ARs that are past due (equal to or over $1000) and distributes to HQ
  • Reconciles the bank account that all deposits go in to from local depository account to HQ's bank account
