Are you a natural problem-solver with a background in banking or finance? We are looking for a Dispute Resolution Specialist to join a Melbourne team on a contract basis. You will play a vital role in resolving disagreements between bank customers and their financial providers. In this role, you aren’t just processing paperwork; you are an independent thinker who reviews the facts, talks to both sides, and helps reach a fair conclusion.
Job Responsibility:
Case Management: Review unresolved complaints regarding banking products (savings accounts, personal loans, credit cards, and mortgages)
Fact-Finding: Work closely with both customers and banks to gather evidence and understand the root cause of the dispute
Negotiation: Use your communication skills to facilitate negotiations and help parties reach a voluntary agreement
Assessment: For cases that can't be settled via negotiation, you will conduct formal investigations and write clear, "Plain English" reports explaining your findings
Technical Application: Apply banking industry codes of practice and legal principles to ensure outcomes are fair and consistent
Requirements:
Experience working within financial services, banking, insurance or professional complaint handling
Strong investigation skills
Exceptional written skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms
Resilience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems (like Dynamics365)
Previous experience within a disputes role within finance
Experience in a similar role required
