As a Dispute Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting WIC to help injured workers and employers overcome some of the most challenging times of their lives. You will be joining a newly created multi-disciplinary team with existing Conciliation Officers and new Dispute Officers.
Job Responsibility:
Lead case management of conciliation disputes assessing each dispute at the outset and proactively engaging with Injured Workers and other parties
Work autonomously to assist and empower all parties to participate effectively, make decisions and reach agreement when possible
Provide a prompt, high quality service to all parties, engaging effectively, consistently and professionally
Use legal and technical knowledge to review documentation, legal processes and medical terminology to resolve disputes
Requirements:
Experience in case management, alternative dispute resolution or conflict resolution, ideally within a workers' compensation or related setting
Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills with the capacity to understand and apply legislation, policy and procedure
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage proactively, respectfully, fairly and patiently with parties, stakeholders and other staff
Advanced interpersonal skills with a strong client-service orientation and willingness to support internal and external stakeholders
Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and along with the ability to identify appropriate solutions to problems
