Position Summary: Installs best of class strategies in pharmacy management to facilitate the pharmacy's goals and objectives. Applies advanced pharmaceutical knowledge to provide drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for drug distribution systems. Develops methods for continuous improvement, quality, and service.
Job Responsibility:
Directs daily workflow and operations for teams to achieve production quotas and deliverable deadlines
Facilitates processes and procedures to meet requirements for medication storage, stability, and administration
Audits appropriateness of therapy through prospective drug utilization review
Checks the completion and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders
Guides pharmacy compliance with all applicable government regulations
Advises senior management of ongoing issues and drives the development of action plans for issue resolution
Guides junior colleagues through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes and provides functional (matrix) supervision
Ensure accurate entry of orders
Maintain security of the pharmacy
Adhere to required delivery schedules
Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy
Check for completeness and precision of all new and refill labels and orders
Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling
Preparation and/or supervision of sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required
Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs
Knowledge of DEA and state law with regards to controlled drug dispensing
Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotation based on the needs of the business
Follow all applicable state and government regulations including HIPAA

Requirements:
Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas, must be active & in good standing
IV Certification or willingness to obtain IV certification
Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
Master's Degree required
Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy

Long Term Care Pharmacy Experience
IV Pharmacy Experience
Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified
