Robert Half is partnering with a growing transportation services company in Poway to hire a driven, hands-on Dispatcher. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a hardworking go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is willing to step in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly. This is a dynamic role that blends dispatch coordination with light warehouse support. During the busy summer season, overtime of 10–20 hours per week will be required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, crews, and equipment based on daily assignments
  • Coordinate residential and commercial transportation jobs to ensure on-time service
  • Monitor job progress throughout the day and proactively resolve delays or service issues
  • Communicate updates, route adjustments, and special instructions to field teams
  • Confirm schedules and logistics with customers and crew members
  • Maintain accurate records of job orders, time logs, and mileage documentation
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to streamline workflow and maximize efficiency
  • Assist with organizing and staging equipment for upcoming jobs
  • Help track inventory, supplies, and materials
  • Support loading/unloading coordination as needed
  • Ensure documentation aligns with warehouse activity and job assignments
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, scheduling, or related operations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working both in an office setting and periodically in a warehouse environment
  • Proactive, Type-A personality with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work 10–20 hours of overtime during peak summer season
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to take initiative
  • Team player with leadership potential and a strong work ethic
