Job Responsibility:

  • Arrive to work on time for every scheduled shift
  • Operate dishwashing machine to ensure proper cleaning of all dishes, silverware, glasses and various other items
  • Perform scheduled cleaning to facilitate kitchen needs and maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes and place them in rack or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
  • Store equipment and utensils in proper areas after they are air dried
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors
  • Wash work tables, sinks, walls, refrigerators and empty waste after each meal
  • Clean out garbage cans
  • Assist with putting away food items upon delivery
  • Assist with tray assembly
  • Make toast and help the cook prepare other simple dishes as instructed by the cook or supervisor
  • Perform other simple tasks as requested by the cook or kitchen supervisor
  • Perform other duties, assignments and/or special projects as required related to resident service and daily dietary operations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting and moving weights up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts consistently
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Preferred fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Ability to consistently come to work on time for each and every scheduled shift
  • Ability to follow team values and communicate in a positive manner
  • Ability to meet productivity standards by completing work in a timely manner and striving to increase productivity and work quickly
  • Ability to use time effectively to ensure that duties are completed according to the schedule
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
