The Discrete Automation Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering end-to-end discrete automation projects within the Automative and Warehouse Automation domains. This role requires strong project management capabilities, technical expertise in industrial automation, and proven leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders while ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the complete lifecycle of discrete automation projects from concept and design through execution, commissioning, and handover
Define and control project scope, deliverables, timelines, milestones, and budgets aligned with customer and business objectives
Ensure adherence to cost, quality, safety, and schedule targets across all project phases
Identify project risks, dependencies, and constraints, and drive effective mitigation plans
Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and ensure on-time delivery
Coordinate closely with customers, vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders
Lead and manage cross-functional automation teams (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Robotics) across multiple concurrent projects
Plan and allocate resources effectively while monitoring team performance and utilization
Provide technical guidance and act as the primary escalation point for delivery, technical, and resource challenges
Conduct regular project reviews, technical and performance evaluations, and report status to senior management
Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal processes
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and delivery-focused work culture while supporting skill development and succession planning
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field)
12–20 years of experience in industrial automation with a minimum of 3–5 years in a managerial or lead role
Strong experience in discrete automation systems for automotive and warehouse environments
Hands-on or supervisory expertise in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial robotics
Solid understanding of automation architectures, industrial networks, and safety systems
Experience with system integration, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities
Proven project management experience in industrial automation projects
Strong planning, execution, and risk management capabilities
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing skills
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and escalation management abilities
Effective communication, coordination, and reporting skills
Nice to have:
PMP / PRINCE2 certification (preferred but not mandatory)
