Job Description:

This is a male-dominated, hands-on Supported Independent Living (SIL) home supporting four clients with physical and intellectual disabilities. The role involves physically demanding tasks and hands-on duties, including personal care, manual handling, and the use of hoists and lifters and meal time management. This site is best suited to proactive, nurturing individuals who are comfortable supporting clients with complex behaviours.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting adults with complex mental health, psychosocial disabilities and intellectual and physical disabilities in an independent living model
Following positive behaviour support and care support plans as directed by clinical teams and site managers
Encouraging capacity building to enhance clients’ current skills, such as hygiene, safe relationships, domestic duties, using public transport and accessing the community safely
Promoting choice and control and show eagerness to participate in clients’ day to day routines, goals, and interests
To work well within a team and provide a positive and safe environment for our clients

Requirements:

Regular access to your own car
P2 NSW Drivers Licence or higher
Flexible availability across a 24/7 roster which may include mornings, afternoons, split shifts, and sleepovers
Must be available to work AM, PM, and sleepover shifts
Must be comfortable supporting clients with complex behaviours
Must be proactive and nurturing
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and hands-on duties, including personal care, manual handling, and the use of hoists and lifters and meal time management
Efficient in computer skills and report writing
Successful applicants will be required to hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and a Working with Children Check
If you have lived or worked for a continuous period of 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years, a certified International Police Check from that country/countries will also be required
