The Director, Valuation will be a technical and thought leader within the Company's actuarial valuation team, driving the development and execution of valuation frameworks across statutory, GAAP, and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet bases.
Job Responsibility:
Research and interpret evolving regulatory and actuarial guidance, translating complex requirements into practical methodologies and model enhancements
Serve as the subject matter expert on life and annuity statutory reserving under VM-20 and VM-22, particularly as applied to cross-border reinsurance
Develop and refine approaches that incorporate asset-liability interaction within reserving and capital frameworks
Support the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) valuation process, including methodology development, assumption setting, and sensitivity analysis
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or any quantitative field and Associate qualification of a widely recognized actuarial body with FSA or FIA actuarial qualification preferred
7+ years of experience in life (re)insurance valuation, reporting, or capital management
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory and accounting guidance to new or non-standard products
Strong working knowledge of NAIC Valuation Manual (VM-20 and VM-22) and related actuarial guidelines
