Job Description

The Enterprise Services Risk organization is expanding with a focus on attracting innovative, pioneering, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals. As a Technical Products & Platforms Risk Director, you will apply your risk management, product, and technical expertise to the company’s digital products. Responsibilities require partnering with a broad set of leaders and stakeholders to identify existing and potential emerging risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. This role will have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with product and tech leaders by leveraging a trusted advisor model to propel key business initiatives though integrated risk strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile to inform emerging risks and mitigation priorities
  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus area
  • Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed
  • Provide risk oversight to ongoing risk assessments and processes criticality assessments
  • Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadline
  • Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in Risk Management, Digital Product Technology, or External Audit
  • At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal or external business clients
  • At least 7 years of experience planning and leading IT audits or risk assessments
  • At least 4 years of people management experience

Nice to have

  • At least 10 years of experience in Risk Management supporting platforms and tech products
  • At least 7 years of experience consulting with senior executives or strategy building
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)
  • Consulting or Audit experience with a Big 4 firm
