Job Description

The Director for Student Life (SL) sets and executes the vision for student engagement and the student co-curricular experience. The Director provides leadership, personnel management, budgetary oversight, and assessment for programming and services in the areas of Student Activities and Involvement. The Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center for Student Involvement and provides support to the Campus Activities Board. The Director works in collaboration with university administrators, faculty, staff, and students to develop, implement, and assess Student Life initiatives. The incumbent should be highly collaborative with a record of programming development and implementation, relationship building, resource management, and personnel management. Position will require occasional night and weekend work. This position is part of the Center for Student Involvement leadership team.

Job Responsibility

  • Set and execute the vision for student engagement and the student co-curricular experience
  • Provide leadership, personnel management, budgetary oversight, and assessment for programming and services in the areas of Student Activities, Involvement, and Engagement
  • This includes supporting the Campus Activities Board, collaborating with campus and community partners on engagement initiatives, and serving as a planning and activity implementation resource
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Center for Student Involvement
  • Supports the division, department, and office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field required
  • Experience: Three years of related experience required
  • Prefer three years with experience in student life

  • Oversees the operation of student financial services, billings, receivables, collections, and cashiering
  • Supervises and leads the Student Accounts team with continual education and development
  • Responsible for the maintaining of all tuition and fees rates and the related student billings prior to the start of each semester
  • Monitors student accounts in credit balance and initiating refunds
  • Responsible for ensuring key system updates and website information changes are performed in a timely and accurate manner, including changes to the University’s billing and refund tables as well as content for the website
  • Ensures that Student Accounts complies with all Federal, State, and university regulations related to the privacy of student information
