Director, Structure Design Engineering

• Act as the functional director for design disciplines, with focus on managing and developing resources across the organization in coordination with Sustaining, Product Development, Defense, Aftermarket and other areas
• Lead the design team to provide effective resolution to solve complex technical problems
• Act as the recognized organizational authority on Structure Design by enforcing roles and responsibilities and Methodologies
• Coach, mentor, and put in place a structured approach to develop the team’s expertise within this function
• Responsible to standardize tools and processes and implement strategic low-cost initiatives
• Work closely with the Stress Functional Director to support overall engineering commitments
• Participate in Product Development reviews to contribute from a peer level
• Effectively communicate program/project progress and updates at Executive and Customer levels
• Travel to different company sites to enforce responsibilities
• Monitor and control budget and related workforce needs

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (a Ph.D. in a relevant field is considered an asset)
• More than 15 years of relevant experience in structural design and stress engineering within the aerospace industry
• Well-versed in Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulations
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in team management
• Experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers
• English is mandatory
• Bilingual in French and English is a great asset
