Job Description

You will provide day-to-day management of RBC’s global high-risk Capital Markets portfolio, focusing on minimising losses while maximising strategic client retention. As a member of a specialised team, you’ll handle complex, high-risk accounts through proactive relationship and risk management. Your role balances delivering tailored solutions that meet RBC’s risk standards with preserving long-term client relationships. Collaboration with internal partners (e.g., service teams, risk officers) and external professionals will be critical to resolving challenges and driving business opportunities.

Job Responsibility

  • Champion continuous improvement in client interactions
  • Ensure clients are treated with respect, empathy, and professionalism
  • Proactively refer clients to RBC-wide expertise
  • Deliver value-added financial advice and solutions tailored to minimising loss and maintaining client relationships
  • Maintain up-to-date skills/accreditations via a personal development plan
  • Participate in bank/industry events
  • Leverage tools like Newton, MFA, and SLAS Learnings
  • Build partnerships with Risk and Field teams
  • Maintain a visible, positive presence to promote Advisory Services
  • Negotiate terms and agreements to protect RBC’s financial interests
  • Address collateral/data issues, lending excesses, and compliance requirements
  • Manage portfolio health via timely reviews, borrower performance monitoring, and write-off processing
  • Follow protocols for risk rating changes, covenant breaches, and negative financial trends
  • Participate in Watchlist reviews and share restructuring insights
  • Prepare for portfolio reviews with senior leadership
  • Mitigate reputation risk through professional, consultative issue resolution
  • Establish file strategies within 45 days of transfer
