Job Description

A pre-IPO, full-stack quantum computing company backed by names like JPMorgan Chase, NVIDIA, Honeywell, and Airbus is hiring a Director, Solutions Architect to define, build, and lead its solutions architecture function—partnering closely with Strategic Account Executives to shape and deliver multi-year customer programs. This is a player-coach role at the intersection of customer technical leadership, commercial account strategy, and deep research/product capabilities. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Strategic AEs to support technical discovery and help move prospects along in the sales process.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with Strategic Account Executives on account planning and execution, acting as the primary technical leader for select strategic accounts
  • Lead technical discovery, guide project scoping with customers, and ensure proposals and solution designs are rigorous and consistent
  • Build and run the Solutions Architect team as a player-coach—goal setting, performance management, development, and resource allocation
  • Maintain a clear catalogue of industry-appropriate use cases and feed market signal back to research leaders to keep roadmaps aligned to industry needs

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, chemistry or related field
  • Quantum fluency: This role requires someone who already deeply understands quantum
  • 5-10+ years working in industrial research programs within a target vertical (Finance, Pharma, or Chemicals/Materials), with strong domain credibility
  • Comfortable translating between business objectives and technical execution, with executive-level communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • 2+ years managing customer-facing technical teams is valued, along with a track record delivering successful, technically complex projects
